Welcome to Sheffield Hallam University's notes on "future of e-learning" engagement for University Executive Group held 5 March 2007

The purpose of this site is to share (as simply as possible) the notes from the engagement held last year, specifically created for those colleagues who attended BbWorld07 in Boston (July 07) and showed such interest in the activity.

On the Detailed notes page are notes on the structure of the engagement and the how and when.

In addition, there are three supporting files added:

UniExec pre-survey.doc - the "getting to know our cohort" pre-engagement survey, used to determine level and focus for the face to face event and seed some online discussions.

future of e-learning Bb screen shots.ppt - self explanatory (?) not all content is there but presents a range of content within each of the main menu areas - the content intentionally starts with a traditional "online document" format and then expands out to different layouts etc. There was a (self imposed) constraint on site design, which was to keep it simple, using only basic Bb functionality - to give an indication of what could be done easily with the minimum amount of technical knowledge

future of e-learning Bb announcements.doc - showing (reading from bottom up) how phased release was used to unveil content and activities over time.

This is the link to the blog http://elearningexecworkshop.blogspot.com/ we used within the workshop to stretch the participation beyond the room and beyond the timeslot, most of the commenters were staff connected with e-learning at Sheffield Hallam watching the blog develop real-time during the event.

Some very brief notes on what emerged out of the engagement are also included at Follow up to engagement

Please feel free to add a comment to the wiki, or if you prefer, send any questions/requests for further info to l.p.thorpe@shu.ac.uk
